Cultivating a community where girls feel grounded, inspired, resilient, loved, and self-assured.
Our HER Philosophy
At The Girls Collective we center HER —her heart, her body, her mind, and her voice, through experiences designed around four core pillars.
Wellness
We support girls' overall well-being, recognizing that wellness is holistic and deeply personal. Through education, reflection, and restorative practices, girls learn how to care for their bodies, minds, and emotions with compassion and intention.
Connection
We cultivate a strong sense of belonging by creating spaces where girls feel safe to show up as their authentic selves. By nurturing healthy relationships with peers, mentors, and trusted adults, we help girls build meaningful connections rooted in empathy, respect, and mutual support.
Growth
We encourage personal development, self-discovery, and reflection, empowering girls to explore their identities, values, and goals. Through experiences and thoughtful dialogue, girls build self-awareness, resilience, and the skills needed to navigate change and challenges with confidence.
Empowerment
We help girls recognize their strengths, use their voices, and step into their leadership. Through skill-building and mentorship, girls develop the confidence to lead with authenticity, advocate for themselves, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Our Programs
Meet The Founder
Jessica Valsechi is the founder of The Girls Collective and a former elementary school teacher and principal who witnessed firsthand what happens to girls as they transitioned from elementary to middle school.
The confidence, curiosity, and connection girls had built began to erode, worn down by social pressure, comparison, and the quiet message that who they were becoming wasn't quite enough. She knew something needed to exist for them. So in 2019, through the Moonshot Fellowship, she built it, working closely with the families of the girls she taught to design something rooted in what girls actually needed, and building alongside them from the very beginning.
Those founding girls are now in high school, and many of them have become part of LeadHER, The Girls Collective Teen Ambassador Program, where they continue to shape the programs, conversations, and community they started in. They are living proof of what The Girls Collective was always meant to be: a place where girls don't just participate, they lead.
